[There's a hesitation before he speaks, and that's not normal for Anders, but he's about to publicly out himself and that's a little nerve-wracking. But he needs the information. He leans a little over the Forge as he speaks, not looking entirely confident.]

If what I've read and heard are correct, all of us are feared? Not just the mages? And the... [He frowns, flipping back through the provided guide.] Scorched, us? The Scorched are all fine with mages and magic?

[He looks back up, giving the device a small smile.] But it's just looking down. Those who aren't Scorched don't attack the Scorched? Or anything else?

[Anders then smiles more, straightening.] I'm being rude, I'm sorry. I'm Anders, and I've just arrived.

[He nods his head to the Forge and then picks it up, looking it over. When he speaks again, he's muttering.] Maker, I hope I actually sent that this time. What sort of an addled idiot sits in a room by themselves talking to a... a thing? Unless--

[His voice cuts off as he hits the power button and ends the feed.]

I, myself, have never had any particular trouble with those amongst the Scorched who have no magical ability. Some may be slightly less open-minded than others, of course, but that is generally the case with any set of circumstances.

As to the Anatolian natives, it depends. Aside from the expected xenophobia...I should say it isn't as bad as it might be. Or rather, it isn't bad as it once was, as I understand.

'Mage' seems to be a catch-all for people with magical ability. In my own world, the term is 'wizard'.

They are. I can't give numbers, no one is exactly sure how many there are, but there are many. Are they rare where you come from?

Hn, I suppose I should have expected that. Reborn, then, though I suppose you weren't that far off.

As far as I know, they don't exist where I come from.

Mmm, no, it certainly isn't my magic that has given me trouble here. Well, apart from the time when I accidentally blew up a building, but I can honestly say I understand where the natives were coming from there. Still, while we Scorched might be feared and mistrusted, the natives definitely aren't our biggest problem.

What would you say is the biggest problem?

Wouldn't have been nearly as embarrassing if it was deliberate. Unfortunately, the Mist made my magic go out of control. And that is the biggest problem. We~ell, that is, the Mist in general, not that specific problem.

I don't think most of us have any kind of problem with mages. And the non-scorched population... well, they don't generally attack anyone, no.

There are definitely drinking establishments in Anatole and Dismas. Aboveground, there's the Foxhole, which is Scorched-run, and Duncan's, which isn't.

Err, in Dismas... I can't really name them all.

And in the past there were riots, inciting against Scorched. But things are calmer now, and we do our best to ease the differences between us all.

[ A pause, he lifts both eyebrows. ]

That's... more along the lines of what I was expecting to hear. Are you part of something that eases, or using a collective we?

[Anders smiles.]

I've found that it's best not to [show off] be too demonstrative in public places. You might get charged more in certain shops, and some people might shy away from you, but there isn't one universal reaction.
