[Ziva's forge is on and broadcasting the series of dreams she's having. These dreams are really more flashbacks of moments that happened. Many of them are moments that Tony doesn't remember, but moments that have been on her mind since she came back from the dead.]
one;
The first scene is one where you're in the apartment if one of your co-workers -- the name of the co-worker is Tony. You're staying here because you're not safe in your apartment because you're being targeted for assassination by the man who just assassinated your father. A man that worked under your father, a man that you had grown up being friends with.
You're in the middle of having a nightmare, tossing and turning in the bed, and you awake with a start when Tony comes to check on you.
"I am fine," You're assuring him as much as he's assuring you.

two;
The next thing you see is the fact that you're dancing in Berlin with Tony. The two of you are supposed to be tracking down the man who assassinated your father.
"Act like you're just with me," Tony says, while keeping the two of you dancing near the suspect. You and Tony lock eyes and your mind even flashes back to when you were a young teenager still living in Israel and you danced with your father in your parents' bedroom and he told you in a tone that expressed regret for failing as a father in many ways but also expressed hope for you and said, "Oh, my Ziva, someday you will dance with a man who deserves your love".
Maybe you are now. Right here, in Berlin.

three;
Your mind takes you to a scene after that, right after you've returned home from Berlin. You're in the passenger seat of Tony's car, looking at the diamonds you've recovered from one of the suspects. You hold one up to your left ring finger, just for fun.
"It looks good on you," Tony says with a small smile. You smile back and put the diamonds in your pocket for safekeeping until you can get them back to NCIS.
A car rams you very intentionally, on the passenger side. You're both injured, nearly unconscious, but Tony reaches for your hand anyway. He laces your fingers together. You're not letting go.

four;
Your mind flashes next to a moment in a warehouse. You're with Tony, you're at a crime scene, he's pulled you aside.
Earlier, an lawyer who had been taking turns interviewing the team about what happened in Berlin and about the death of the man who killed your father -- you did push the man off the boat in DC and killed him, even though NCIS was told to step aside from the case, and put you in an interrogation room to interview you. He asked you about your friend, Adam, who works for Shabak because he thought you two got too close and you had slept with him in Israel when you went to bury your father. An accusation you refused to answer. Tony had shut down the interview with the lawyer because he felt it was getting too personal.
But now, in this warehouse, Tony just asked you if it was true, if you had slept with him.
"It was a moment of weakness," You reply. You can see some hurt in his eyes at that answer.

five;
You now see a scene where you and Tony are in the woods. You're here because Gibbs is in a safehouse since he's the real subject of the investigation. He just told you to stop trying to help him, but now after your father's death, your NCIS family is all you have left. "It's not about my JOB. It's about my FAMILY!" You screamed at him, and then stormed out. Tony followed you out when he saw how upset your were, how you'd actually let out your emotions, sort of lashed out at a man who would usually never think of reacting that way to.
"Nice tantrum, Ziva," He's trying.
"Oh, SHUT UP, not now!" Now you're reacting to Tony like this. You explain how you know what Gibbs is doing, trying to protect you, but you always take responsibility for your own actions. Tony just listens. More calm, you try again.
"Look, I am sorry if I hurt you in all this," You start out, putting your hand near his shoulder. "It was never intended," A pause. "Tony I care too much about our ... f-friendship," You say it like because you're not sure what you are any more -- friends or more or what? "I do not want it to be awkward between us,"
"Hey," Tony says gently, and kisses you on the forehead. "Nothing's awkward between friends," He assures you with a smile.

[That name... she only half pays attention, not willing to admit she doesn't like what's going on right now, unable to accept things are weird here.
That name, though, makes a spark and she knows.]
You're the one that cute guy was upset about, aren't you?

[And she's going to claim them for her own.]
I mean the one in your dream. He said you were dead.
[Video]
[Video]
[She refuses to believe that.]
I guess he was right. You weren't too broken.
[Video]
That said, dead is still dead. Which is pretty broken.

[Denial~]
But I guess we can always test that again, you know.

[Except it all makes sense. Going to Berlin, tracking Bodnar... Even if he can't account for the events himself, DiNozzo can account for the feelings, at least those expressed by the on-screen DiNozzo.]
[Ziva's side of it, however, comes as a surprise and a reassurance. The first scene feels like their usual dance--what (terribly embarrassing things) would his dad say, though, if he knew about Ziva in Tony's bed? Then he's caught by the sheer openness of that dance. What does one say to something so...telling? It's hardly fair to Ziva to have her emotions exposed like that, her feelings outed against her will.
Tony almost feels bold enough to say something himself after the car crash scene. He knows they both survive it; Ziva told him as much, and he believes her on that.
The warehouse puts a halt on his words. That was...what she had meant. How she had hurt him. Beyond the safe-house thing. Adam--he hasn't met the guy, but he dislikes him already. Tony's jealous and betrayed, but also offended. Adam should have been a friend, should have taken care of Ziva's emotions, not slept with her.
He's upset, but Ziva's already heard it. It would be unfair to dig up that buried hatchet; he can cope with that on his own, without blaming Ziva for something she has already faced him on.
And then there it was. "Nothing's awkward between friends," she had told him that he had said. He thought he understood why, maybe, that day she returned from the dead. Now he had a better understanding, a more complete understanding, of just what sort of gravity those words had.
To him, to Ziva, to whatever it was between them. They had weathered this and were still standing together.
He's silent a minute, fighting down the urge to bring up Adam because Ziva has already dealt with that from him. And he really does want to reassure her that they haven't lost anything, no matter what he's just learned, no matter how hard it was to hear.]
"Act like you're just with me." I'll have to remember that one. Not a bad line. [Even with the cheeky tone, his smile is soft, affectionate, as he looks at the screen, torn between hurt and happiness.] Glad I thought of it.
[Video]
It was a good one. Like one of those god lines out of a movie almost. [She had to say that, yes.] It was fitting for the situation; I think it was obvious that I was unusually anxious there. [He's always been good at reading her emotions, even when she only let a little bit show, it seemed like he could almost always tell how deeply she was feeling something.]
[Video]
It's tempting to ask her if she'd like to do that again--dance with him. But it is too soon, he thinks, for both of them. He would like to take his time and figure out what he feels after this set of Ziva-memories.]
Some of those scenes are like out of a movie. You're absolutely sure you checked out at the hospital just fine? That crash looked nasty.
[Video]
It's tempting to her too. She'd make some sort of casual comment like "we should do that again sometime" if not for the fact that she's the only one of them that remembers it happening from first-hand experience and not through visions that were basically second-hand memories. She could wait a while -- he's been patient enough with her over the years regarding various things; she could do the same.]
Yeah. My arm was a little messed up, but I wore the brace for less than two hours, and then I beat up on some punching bags, so I was fine. I just never let it hurt. [Ziva is a pro at taking medical advice, yes she is.]

Friendship. It seems a very... special form of it.

I would hate to confuse him more. He probably has more on his tray [...she means plate, but tray is close enough] than I do at this point. At least I did not have to also work through me dying; I was just dead, not having to worry about it. Now he sees this stuff that he does not even remember...

Yes, it would be nice if the forges would stop broadcasting what people dream every so often. If you know how to make it stop, please share the steps for how to disable this beetle. [She means bug.]
